This Sunday, October 5, our Church School starts its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to help SOS Community Services of Ypsilanti.

SOS-CS started in 1970 as a small, grassroots effort by local college students to serve their peers during times of crisis. Every year more than 5,000 people receive food, crisis help, and a place to call home because of SOS. For more than 40 years, SOS volunteers and staff have been a lifeline to tens of thousands of homeless families in our community.

Each Church School student should please donate one item based on their classroom as shown below:
Preschool:          1 can of Corn
K–1st Grade:      1 box of Potato Flakes
2nd–3rd Grade:   1 can of Green Beans
4th–5th Grade:    1 box/bag of Stuffing
6th–7th Grade:    1 can of Cranberry Sauce
8th–9th Grade:    1 can of Mixed Fruit
10th–12th Grade: 1 small box/bag of Rice.

For reference, a collection box with a sample food item is in each classroom.
All donated food items are due no later than the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 16, 2014.
