2010-09-01: Welcome to the 2010-11 Academic Year

Welcome!

On behalf of our teaching staff, we would like to welcome all new and returning students and their families to the St. Nicholas Church School program.

New Church School Directors.

This year we welcome new Directors of our St. Nicholas Church School, Ms. Katherine Phan and Professor Photios loannou (assistant). They and their families are long time members and participants in the St. Nicholas Community.

Church School Eligibility.

Church School is open to all children in preschool (3 and 4 year aIds) through 12th grade.

Registration.

For those who have not yet registered their children, registration forms can be downloaded from the church website or picked up from the table in the hallway by the fellowship hall. At registration a packet will be given to parents containing the curriculum for the child’s grade level, the Church School year schedule, and a letter from Fr. Nick.

Take-Home Final Exam.

Each student will be given a take home exam. which is compiled by Fr. Nick, and is to be turned in at the end of the school year. The exams will be graded by Fr. Nick and returned to the students.

Communications.

Communication of information related to upcoming events will be by email, the church website, Sunday and monthly bulletins, and on a display In the hallway by the fellowship hall.

Special Events - Parent Volunteers Needed

Our Church School will have several events throughout the year and we will need the assistance of parents. Volunteer forms will be provided for parents to fill out.

Our first event is on Saturday, October 23rd, with the celebration of the Liturgy of St. James at 10:00 AM followed by our Parish Harvest Party.
