We have a lot of important Church School events coming up!

March 2 - April 27, 2014 OCMC Lenten Coin Box Collection

During Lent each Church School student will receive an OCMC (Orthodox Christian Mission Center) coin box to help raise money for Orthodox Missions. The OCMC sponsors mission teams all over the world to bring the message of Christ to all people. Its many projects include spreading the word of God, the construction of churches and schools, outreach to orphans and the poor, and health care. Please encourage your child/children to participate in this philanthropic work.

Monday 3, 2014, Clean Monday (Καθαρή Δευτέρα),

6:30 Great Compline, 7:30 Lenten Dinner

March 9, 2014, Sunday of Orthodoxy

Students will participate in the procession of icons into the church at the end of the Divine Liturgy. Please remind your Church School students to bring an icon from home to carry in the procession. If a student is not able to bring an icon from home, one will be provided for them.

March 16, 2014, Parish St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival

Students are to be at church by 9:00 AM.

All Church School students in grades 7-12 are required to participate.

Essays are to be handed in that day. Fr. Nick reads them and provides feedback.

April 12, 2014, Saturday of Lazarus, Communion, Breakfast, and Palm Cross Making

Church School students will attend the Divine Liturgy and take Communion. After church services students will be served a Lenten meal and everyone will help make palm crosses to be distributed to parishioners the next day on Palm Sunday.

April 16, 2014 Holy Unction Service for Church School students at 4 pm followed by Holy Week Retreat (5:45-6:30).

As is our tradition every Holy Wednesday, the Church School will participate in an earlier Unction Service at 4:00 PM and will have a retreat immediately afterwards.

Mr. Tony Mihalopoulos is organizing the retreat.

For instruction the students will assemble according to youth group (Hope, Joy and Goya)

Snacks will be provided to the students before the start of the retreat.

Please make a note of these events and encourage all Church School students and their families to participate.
